Meet Ben
Growing up in a neighboring state, my family would travel through Wyoming on road trips, and I distinctly remember the Wyoming welcome signs used to say "Like No Place On Earth." That always intrigued me, and I wanted to experience this unique place that was like no other. Some people are born here, but I made Wyoming my home by choice. I believe that the values of the residents who live by the Code of the West make Wyoming distinct, and I intend to ensure that Wyoming stays that way.
I grew up as the second of six children in a pastor's home. With that many siblings, there was always fair teams and we learned to get along with each other. My father instilled values and a love for the outdoors as we hunted together and my grandfather, also a pastor and a Pearl Harbor survivor, taught me to fish. I spent many days outdoors hunting and fishing with each of them and love living in Wyoming where children still have that opportunity.
My love for the outdoors also led me to be a trail runner competing in several ultra-marathons. I have run in many unique places throughout the state to train or race. My favorite runs include the Wind River mountains, across Medicine Bow, up Laramie Peak and many cities and towns throughout Wyoming. The Wyoming scenery is like no place on earth and inspires greatness in anyone who cares to look.
In 1994, I moved to Wyoming to attend a small Bible College and fell in love with it. In 2006, I jumped at the chance to move back to Wyoming permanently when the company I worked for had a job opening in Cheyenne.
While in Wyoming, I have worked in the construction industry and the oil field as well as a little work on my in-laws' ranch. These industries are the backbone of the Wyoming economy and the hard-working folks of this state are some of the most genuine people you will ever know. I am building my own construction and consulting business to serve Wyoming and know the challenges that entrepreneurs and business owners in Wyoming face today.
I have been blessed to marry a wonderful wife that has spent her whole life in Wyoming. She grew up on a ranch and loves the Wyoming way of life. We enjoy every day here living and working in Wyoming together.
This truly is like no other place on earth and as I represent the people of Wyoming, it is my goal to preserve our values and the unique way of life we share.
